FYI the southeastern Rac tomorrow has been moved from green river to monticello!!!

Sure hope some of you boys down south show as they will be gunnin to get rid of hounds down south and up the kill tags. YOU KNOW HOW THE 5 TAGS IS OVER RUNNING THE MOUNTAIN. GAME OVER!!!

Needless to say the souhtern rac passed the udwr proposal and totally ignored the bit of concerns from houndsmen. Matter of fact they basically said if a houndsmen told any information it was more than likely wrong. WOW!!!

Well the rodeo continues....
The Monticello rac went down, many different houndsmen many different opinions.
From lets go with havest objective it worked for the lions,to lets stop chasin bears in the fall and give em a rest, to slow down and save the fall hunt its the best. A very diverse group.

What was missing were all these other "sportsmen" that complain about the houndsmen on the lasal and San Juan!! HUH?????
This meeting was in the same town as all this "conflict"??? ZERO SHOWED UP!!!

Oh by the way very little conversation about the houndsmens concerns by the rac.
Passed the udwr's proposal.

BUT WAIT..........The udwr wants the publics opinion!!!!!!!

By the way did any of you houndsmen attend the "sfw" mule deer town hall meeting in spanish fork last week?

I made it out and heard that now its coyotes that are eatin all the fawns. Just give the "sfw" 2million they will fix our problem in 2-4 years!!!

Ohhhh as well a few clowns stood up and said we have way to many lions and bears.
They wanted to sell tags over the counter. Fools we have been doing that for 15 years. Guess some clowns like to make excuses rather than get the job done. Don Peay said they need to stay agressive on bears and lions.....That dont help our sport!!!!

There will be more "sfw" town hall meetings Jan 17-cedar city.... Jan 18th-logan....Jan 30th blanding.
Somebody show up and ask for a public apology for being wrong about lions killin all the deer!!!These clowns have been wrong for 18 years..........but wait now they have the plan.

Believe it or not the Utah Houndsmen, Utah Bowmans & sfw were all on the same page concerning the fall dates on SanJuan & LaSal. LEAVE IT ALONE!!

And were denied thanks to conflicts with bow hunters????
The s.e. region manager could not produce any documents nor evidence just swore that tons of calls were coming in. As well ZERO bow hunters showed up to any rac or board meetings to CRY. Apparently all we have to do is call a manager and whine and we can get what we want, or just get all our buddies to call!!!IF THAT IS WHAT WAS REALLY GOING ON????

FALL HUNT date will end on the 14th of Sept. 7 days extended thanks to John Bair (sfw) & all who attended for the help we got.

One unit got extended a week in the spring. I think the s.e manti not posative thats the right unit. (Access problems)

The summer training will get interesting as the same s.e. manager has started a study on the SanJuan & LaSal. The theory is that the houndsmen are pursuing bears into conflicts areas. Basically we chase them to the dumpster & they stay.
THAT WILL BE THE NEXT TO GO IF THESE SAME MANAGERS HAVE THEIR WAY!!!!

The 30 spot & stalk tags are believed to have only 3 or 4 bears harvested per unit.
The udwr got this number 30 from the ROADLESS area in the book cliffs.
IS THERE ANY ROADS ON THE SANJUAN OR LASALS?????


The balance of the udwr plan was accepted as presented.
It sure dont look good for hound hunting in Utah boys!!!

Just a quick upate the first harvest objective harvest results are in!!!

6 of 10 bears harvested on the avintaquin were sows. Thats 60% females DEAD!!!

Gee I wonder how this will sustain our bear population in Utah????

black eye I dont know how we can sustain a bear population with unethical houndsman that makes me sick how would you like to put a sow or cub on your wall and have a real houndsman see it. We have fought our a$$es of to try and better the sport by trying to reduce tags set up meetings around the state and at all meetings all we here from houndsman is we half to protect the femals oubviosly some dont care 60% is unexeptable hell 10% is unexeptable.

We knew there would be idiot unethical supposed houndsmen that would shoot whatever climbed the tree...... once again having no regard for bear population , just like they did on the lions..... i dont know what its going to take to convince these idiots when they kill females it drastically effects the population!

I read through this post and it reminds me of the "theatre masacre" in Aurora, Co.
I think to my self "guns dont kill people people kill people".
Then you have all the anti's out to ban our right to bare and own guns.

I don't know how long the battle has been going on to perserve and protect our privalage of hounding in Utah, I do know houndsmen that have been hounding over 50 plus years that have been doing everything they can the whole time they have been running hounds to preserve this great American Herritage.

At what point are we going to police our own??? We can go to Rac and Board meetings, send out thousands of flyers and notifications to go and stand up for our privalages. Thats been going on for over 10 years that I know of now. What good does that do when over half of the "houndsmen" out there aren't even educated about what being a "houndsmen", code of ethics is really all about and really dont care.

We have had tons of incendents over the years where "houndsmen" have done things to bring negative attention to our sport and the hounding community. Some of the events have been swept under the rug and other events have been made public and blown out of porportion by the media and the anti's. A lot of the bear regulations are a consequense of negative actions by "houndsmen". Yes I agree its greed ($$$$$$) and anti's don't help our situation out either, but when you have "houndsmen' out there acting like clowns and not caring for anything else except that moment or they got theres, and not being educated with no care for ethics is at the end of the day is going to bring and end to hounding in Utah.

I have said this from day one you have to educate, police, and lead by example. Who has gone and found out who killed the 6 sows in the Avantiquin??? Who has gone and talked to the "houndsmen" that killed the 6 bears in the Avantiquin and educate them on the negative effects killing sows does the the bear ecosystem??? Who has left some kind of educational information on what being a "houndsmen" truely is, code of ethics, and the standard of excellence that we all should be carrying our selfs with??? Who has gone to the DWR since these sows were killed and met with bioligists & management ect... to voice your concerns??? Who is out there leading by example and personally getting out and meeting and educating "houndsmen" and not bashing, or being jealous, or passing judgement of other "houndsmen" because of the truck they drive, color dog they have, religion or beliefs they might have, or the areas they hunt???? Who has gotten ahold of the bear hound associtation in Wisconsen to see how they and their lawyers battled for their hounding privalages??? See what they reccomend and if they could help???

We have to do a lot better job of policing our own, we cant be posting pics and video for the whole world to see because its turned around and used against us. First it was the Foxhound guys that lost their privlages in England, now the Biggest state in our Union losing their hounding privalages. We are in no better shape right now and the way things are going we will be next.

When are we going to stop the Masacre on our Bears, Lions and the PRIVALAGE of being "houndsmen".
