Re: Nm ibex. (Jr hunt)
CONGRATS TO YOUR DAUGHTER, I'VE HUNTED THE ENTIRE FLORIDA MOUNTAINS 4 TIMES, ONCE WITH AND FOR MY SONS HUNT WHO WAS 11 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME, BUT THE EASIEST FOR A YOUTH HUNTER WOULD BE AT THE SOUTH END OF THE FLORIDAS, THERE'S 2 NATURAL SPRINGS, I CANT REMEMBER THEIR NAMES, BUT IF YOU PULL UP A MAP YOU'LL SEE THEM...THE KEY TO HUNTING THESE IBEX IS TO SNEEK IN A DARK AND CATCH THEM WATERING NEAR THE BOTTOM, YOU'LL HAVE A 200-400 YARD SHOT, MAYBE A SECOND SHOT IF YOUR FAST ENOUGH...REMEMBER GLASS CONSISTANTLY, WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT THEY WILL APPEAR...IF YOUR BEHIND THEM, CLIMB TO THE TOP OF SOUTH PEAK AND SNEEK AROUND, YOU WILL FIND THEM BEDDED...THIS IS A TOUGH HUNT, SO PLEASE BE IN GOOD HEALTH...TIPS: LOTS OF WATER, GOOD SHOES, CELL PHONE, FOOD... HOPE THIS HELPS

First scouting trip is going good. Glassed up about 20 last night with 5 billies. Glassed about 30-40 this morning. Also glassed up my first lion. Watched it for about 5 minutes before it disaapered. See what I find tonight and in the morning.
