For me my jagdterrier goes in and fight and jumps right back out when he feels pain but jumps right but in, and this is done for about 2 to 3 mins before he bays the cat. I but if he was to go into a hole with the bobcat i would want one that could kill it and drag it out then have nothing. But yes bobcats are to $ for the jagd to fight with it. My boy got the brains but he believes in himself to much when finding game and sometimes make mistakes but when it comes to the fight he have no heart to stop it.

10-4 Dewey, it's been the ruination of many good lines of dogs.

Many people pick hard fight over hard stay and smart fight. It makes for crazy dogs and that is the number one complaint of people that don't want jagds. It's not any better than the show people picking dogs based on looks without testing if those looks have contributed to function. If you go to sighthound races you'll see quickly that the AKC dogs can't compete with the race bred dogs.

The lesson is the same, when breeders don't select for a balanced dog and they select for specific things, they loose specific things also.

Your right on the money. I picked up a dog for my son earlier this year that is Border Collie/APBT cross. He calls him Genius and he is quite a good little dog. He taught him to catch frogs already and Genius is quite good. Between the Jagds, Genius and a Stag female, I think I'm going to develope a line of Lurchers over the next few years. Should be interesting. The Jones' in MO. have some crosses with brains. For years a lot of people ran the Jones' down but some of the best hunters I've seen came from them.

Yea Jones got some really smart dogs, great hunting in them too. I got my boy off from jackie and john, turned out to be a really good hunting dog, but i wouldn't call it great because of the lack of killing and and a little lack of water. But yes i would agree with you that they produce some of the best jagdterrier in the United States!
