I hate to say it but we will have to play the game and blend in, they are looking for a fight and any way they can make us look bad they will, remember they have the bleeding hart liberal media on there side already and if we don't look and act respectable they will use it to make there point and turn more of the uneducated public against us, leave your dog box's and camies at home, dress nice, be nice the anti's are going to try and do all they can knowing they have nothing to lose.................... but we do!

seems to me it needs to be told how many sows with cubs will be killed when the govt. killers come to town trying to make a buck.

DOG LAKE BLUES; Good Point. Snares are non discriminate, Hound hunting is the only form of catch and release selective hunting. The only way to observe the animal to see if it is worthy of harvest

Folks....

Here is a stastical fact for you. Government has been snaring bears well before our ban in 1994. I have an inside connection with ODFW in Southern Oregon and deal directly with a biologist who's name I will not mention who makes the claim of the 100 pound rule. Defined as those bears that are under 100 pounds and just left to rot once killed in a snare....I have no proof and this is just conversation....But since its inception is direct from an ODFW official, I have to assume it is accurate and happening....Lets look at the facts below.

Here in oregon over the last two years Government/Contractors have killed 942 documented bears....Keep in mind those cubs around ten to twenty pounds are probably those classed as "unknowns"....what the hell is an unknow bear and how does this qualify as management? From 2005 to present there are 571 bears killed each Year on average by either Contractors, USDA, ODFW Agents for a running total of 3997 bears documented over seven years.......How many undocumented do you suspect under the 100 pound rule?....How cool is this....once turned in..... we get to fund the butcher bill to boot.

Anyone look at the new Black bear management plan just released? After ODFW failed to implement one for well over a decade(for obvious reasons)....check out orphaned cubs and rehabilitation.....page after page of B.S.! Policy of the state is to shoot them....Dump them and call them Unknown....Relocation programs are defined by current actions of the Commission....shoot them....all of them... and HSUS has a problem with select harvest with hounds? ODFW-OSP worried about poaching within the hound hunting community? I say........Try keeping up with Government!!!!

Just wait until next week when ODFW promised to deliver the Cougar numbers and all cost associated with removals....The first 101 cost us 310 k... How is it both House and Senate voted to pass H.B. 3636 last year to fund the Government killing of our animals. Liberal democrats voted 100% to pass this legislation and our liberal I hate your hound hunting guts Governor signed into law this bill......How did they do this....Read the bill....Bear,Cougar, Wolves and fur bearing mammals classified as predators thats how...Yes they are predators.....But defined by law as big game mammals UNTIL crossing the line losing the big game classification and becoming predators...all except fur bearing mammals....

The reason they do it is because they can.... and they know you will not likely pick up the phone or get involved....Bottom line....these three liberal states, Oregon,Washington,California need management of animals and have provisions in place or will implement them to always be able to kill animals....Animals are going to die, We, You and me happen to be a management tool for our perspective states and Government intervention is not the solve all, end all.....Government will simply say. WE HAD NO CHOICE, THE VOTERS SPOKE IS WHY. Get the facts, Get involved, Expose the truth in all three states. We are at the lowest point in history.....What can they do to us next? Nothing!

Well I'm not sure about it, does anyone know the legality of having a recording device on the capitol grounds and inside the capitol...since HSPD12 they have got real funny about stuff like that.
BUT, if it is legal I would highly suggest filming/recording ANY interaction/conversation with any of the other side.
Might be worth bringing something in your car and then going back to get if if they give us an OK or you see the other side doing the same.
We might get some awesome footage of sheer stupidity for youtube...or at the very least force them to mind their sneaky manners.
Just be careful your carrying it does not get you shut out of the hearing - have a way to go put your camera away quickly if it might interfere with your getting inside.

Cut and paste this then print it and send it as many times as you can to all the Democrats

Date

The Honorable Senator
California State Senate
State Capitol
Sacramento, CA 95814

RE: SB 1221 (Lieu) – OPPOSE

Dear Senator

I am writing to ask you to oppose SB 1221, legislation which would prohibit the use of a dog to hunt or pursue a bear or bobcat.
Our community is currently facing serious issues which are in need of the immediate attention of our representatives at the State Capitol. Budget cuts to critically needed social programs, as well as to our local schools are severely impacting all of us. Unemployment rates remain high, businesses continue to close, and more of your constituents are losing their homes to foreclosure and filing for bankruptcy each and every day. I am very concerned that, instead of dealing with these very real issues that we have elected our state representatives to address, the Legislature is spending their time considering whether or not dogs should be used to hunt bears.
Proposing to make this change in the Legislature would completely avoid the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) – the process established by the Legislature to ensure that decisions which impact our natural resources are made following thorough environmental review. These decisions are appropriately made pursuant to CEQA, in public forum, and based upon the best available science by the California Fish and Game Commission.
Hunting with dogs is also a tradition passed down for generations by our forefathers. Hunting with dogs is an accepted, effective, challenging and humane method of hunting per the dept of Fish and Games annual Bear report. In addition, these dogs are not only used for hunting, but also treasured members of our families. As such, I am seriously concerned that SB 1221 would allow the killing of any dog thought to be chasing a bear or bobcat.
I ask you to focus your attention on the much more pressing needs facing our community and our state, and leave natural resource decisions to the Fish and Game Commission where they can be made based on science and consistent with CEQA. Please vote “no” on SB 1221.
Let the Dept. of Fish and Game do their job and manage the fish and game of this state!

Sincerely,

This is the list of who to contact the republicans are for us so the ones to contact are the Democrates, CALL, E-MAIL AND HAND WRITE LETTERS from you, you wife/husband, girl friend. boy friend, kids, parents, in-laws, dogs, cat what ever just do it, we need to stop this here and now!

The HSUS and their lawfirm Kenyon and Yeates and their biologist, from Live Oak Assoc. used CEQA to kill the opening of San Luis Obispo County to bear hunting in 2009. Fish and Game had an Environmental Impact Report that was over 100 pages. Just the threat of a suit questioning Fish and Game's CEQA documentation was enough to persuade the California Fish and Game Commission to "table" the issue for a year. Live by the sword, die by the sword. I believe that S.B. , or is it "B.S." 1221 falls under the auspices of CEQA. I haven't seen or heard of an EIR covering S.B. 1221 and their other option filing a Negative Declaration, which basically says that this action or piece of legislation will have no impact on the environment. Common sense tells you that by reducing the annual take by half will definitely impact the environment as well as people's lives who are interrupted by pesky bears breaking into their houses. Looking forward to the 24th. Check out the post "April 24 ACTION ALERT HSUS Secret Meeting" in the general hunting with hounds forum. -Pete

I want to remind everyone that we should be posting about this in the BILL INTRODUCED TO BAN PURSUIT OF BEAR AND BOBCAT IN CA This is in the BIG GAME HUNTING WITH DOGS section

Having a bunch of different posts about the same thing only causes confusion and a lack of information being distributed.

Time to get back to hammering at our law makers

This is the next group of DISTINGUISHED LAW MAKERS we cannot miss or trust any of them, this last time we trusted Gattos office, after he did not vote the 1st time and his rep came looking for us in the hall way of the Capital and asked us to give his office a break we thought that he would stand his ground and not vote at the re-vote, this was our mistake and now regaurdless of what any of these RAT BASTARDS ask of us we cannot back off I don't care what piolitical party they are with they ALL need to feel the pressure, we have been told that the chair will listen something we haven't ran into yet, DO ALL YOU CAN, THIS FIGHT IS NOT OVER! we have been lied to/lied about/miss lead/and shit on! But even after all this BS we cannot and will not stop it's not in us to give up! This is not going to heard until the 8th of August so we have been told.
