Today I lost one and need help

I got into hound hunting two years ago in October well I bought a hound 6 weeks old little Dixie it was for my son. I put so much time and heart blood sweat and tears into her, she was something else everyone that saw her wouldn't stop talking about the potential and drive she had for a blue dog and a young one at that, I loved that dog and all the hard work payed off she caught her first bear a few weeks back start to finish, I was so proud. I got in a bike wreak and broke both legs, I had my neighbor helping me water and feed I came home to find my sons dog and my best dog tied up on a two foot leash and the water was six feet away she had heat stroked and died ;( I can't bring myself to start over from scratch or tell my son yet! I need help with a good dog I don't want a hand out I just don't wanna miss season and due to my legs I'm not working if anyone can help or point me in a good direction please do cat bear dog I would appreciate more that you know...

Man i'm sorry! I hate that people allow that kind of stuff to happen, not saying anything about your neighbor as i don't know them, but it's sad to see something so tragic happen that is easily avoidable. Best of luck, and again sorry about that. I hope you find someone that can help out, good luck fellow houndsmen and californian.

Yeah it's hard to be mad at someone that helps you but you wonder how can someone be so ignorant worst part is she is in vet school, I appreciate your reply and regards! Don't know if you made it to sacramento today but it seemed okay for once like we may keep our rights. Talk to you later good buddy

east of auburn, north east of sacramento. about an hour from sac and an hour from reno. i frequently go to redding,ca to hunt also.

I can 100 % concur with rigo8585 about dixie. She had drive and willingness to please that was out of this world!! Have been in the truck behind her many times to tell the truth her drive, among other things, really have pushed me to become OBSESSED with this hound hunting thing ! This is my first post but what better way to do it than honor dixie ! She was amazing always! and R I P ! What can u say besides she was one of those dogs...... !!!

now that it is out there about dixie, i would like to have a good potential cat dog of my own they seem so illusive and challenging, just my style.!!! wondering what is the right breed to start off with . i really like what i hear about leopard curs is that my best bet for a bobber dog ????? if there is a cross in california that is known cat dogs, or purebreds im interested in all of them please contact me 661-246-5312

hey muttman82 thank you bud she was great. hey there is some very very smart guys on here in the cat department look them up pick there brain i have personally talked to dwalton seems very smart and he is extremley nice also try these guys
