different personalities.

Post by redheadw/redtick »

So I got a redtick pup a couple months a go she's maturing a little now. But was slow to catch on to a few things. She's very gritty and starts stuff (kind of a bully). I got a walker pup a little over a week ago. She's a polar opposite to the redtick laid back and very affectionate. Learned her name in a day or so comes when called most the time good for 8 weeks old. I know every dog has a different personality. The walker has had her nose glued to the ground since day one where the redtick took a little to get her to trust hers. Just wondering if anybody else has had similar experiences. I love both and think they're going to make a great team just curious on some opinions.
Thanks,
AJ

Yeah, my black and tans jumped on the first coon they caught at four months and never backed up, my english/plott would bay and run circles unsure of it. My black dogs love other dogs/ english is not sure about other dogs and takes her a while to warm up to them. I think every dogs has their own agenda from day one, their own style. They may want to hunt one way while another hunts a different way. However they can learn from each other and try to compliment each others style to make a really good team.

Ok better question. How much of their difference is personality and how much breed differences?

I find it to be personality. Because I. see all the littermates to all my dogs. and they act differently.

Ok cool. I really like how my walker trusted her nose from the beginning. But really like both and wouldn't change either now. The redtick just catches on a little slower.
