alpha question
i have the alpha it came with basic map on it i installed birdseye satelite imagery worked like a dream used it about a week, turned it on today and it has no map at all on it. it just has the triangle and the dogs? any help with the problem will be appreciated

The only way that I can think of to fix or find out for sure what happened is go to the map page, press menu and go to Setup Map. Now go to Map Information and see what maps are enabled or disabled. Make sure that all applicable maps and the Birdseye are ENABLED.

it says it is enabled and so does the topo just hooked it up to the comp and redownloaded it all still mothing guess ill just have to wait and call garmin tomorow

Go to the map, Then the menu, Make sure your Declutter is turned off. I'm guessing that is your problem.

the problem was in the sd card i called garmin and they walked me through some steps to reset the device. everything is back to normal now. couldnt be more pleased with the alpha system.

So, once you subscribe, and download imagery for "area x" that is yours to keep, even if you do not subscribe the following year?

Catdogs you are correct. You can keep it, but if you want to "renew" the images a year later you'll need to re-subscribe.
