coon hunting in that area is good... coyotes every where!

in the late 80's I worked a good deal in the area of Harper.Anthony, Kiowa Ks and Alva ,Okla
kept an old hound with me a bit...around Medicine Lodge is also some good coonhunting.
most of your coonhunting will be along creeks, rivers and streams.. that is where you find the timber.. not big woods like in areas back east of Kansas..
Most will be on private land also-- a tip.. ask permission before season! and do not expect to go deer hunting there also.....
most farmers are OK with coon hunting with common sense.. Close all gates that you open...
pick up your rubbish.

cool thanks for the info, what do they run coyotes with just stags? or do they start with hounds and cut the stags in?

here in the Flint Hills most use greyhound/stag crosses and hunt out of modified Toyota and Chevy pickups.. dump boxes are the way..
on farther south around the area you are looking at I would think trail hounds would be a better bet as there are not as many big open pastures... some but not like the Flint Hills area

In NE Okla there are some fellows that get dog food where I do that run trail hounds...

LOL! you will not find bears here
