New Mexico Bear Season 2012
Just thought I would share with all of you some of the success we have had this year on bears so far. Our pack had plenty of races and our 9 month old pup got to see plenty of trees and even started a couple of races. Most races were started with 2 young blueticks (26 months & 20 months) that we trained ourselves. We had one mean bear that tore up 2 of the dogs but none of them backed off and they finally put him up a tree. Overall it has been a good season.
We had one rig that we thought was a bear. We got a tree switch on the dogs and ended up walking into this instead of a bear. We took some pictures and pulled the dogs off.

SUPER nice job Diego!!!
Cry to the heavens and let slip the dogs of war. For they must feed on the bones of tyranny. In order for men to have freedom and liberty

Thanks bowtech and Eric. Spent a lot of time with the younger dogs this year and it is paying off. Here is a video of some of the dogs getting some ground work done off the cast. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b64cUjQ5o-4&feature=plcp

Kraig he is going on 5 I believe. You probably have a better idea of his true age. How has the hunting been up that way?

Nice video we rarely get to see footage and when we do it's usually already at the tree I like to see dogs on the ground. Very cool.

The huntin has finally slowed down just tryin to get these dogs to slow down a bit and get into lion mode, I had to get the black book out to see how old he is you're right he is 5 turnin 6 in feb. That black and white dog has got to be out of sox cause he looks just like sox's dad. If that black and white dog turns out and is still intacted we might have to hook up in a year or two and make some pups. I'm tickeled you still have some of that blood, I lost all my dogs with that blood wouldn't mind gettin a little back one day. Thanks again for sharin those awesome pics and video. Keep on makin dogs.

Re: New Mexico Bear Season 2012
I was pretty close on estimating his age then
. The black and white dog is doing good. rigging and starting his own bear tracks now. I had him up for sale on this site awhile back but nobody seemed interested....luckily, because he has made some major progress this bear season. Being that the two litters from him have turned out really good, I will probably do a 3rd time breeding with sox and my bluetick female again this spring so I will probably have some pups then unless you want to breed him back to some of the blood you have there, whatever your choice is, we could work something out.
