Re: unfair advantage
I think some people would bitch if you hung them with a new rope. If you think it's so great go by a half dozen pay for the monthly service charges, and carry them all over the place trying to find service. I personally would think twice before i bitched about all of the new electronic gizmos. I don't think they need any more ammunition to take more away from us. Just my thoughts.

Maybe he figured it cost less due to gas prices to not drive out to each crossing and have the dogs check it. He could be home cutting firewood to sell waiting for his phone to go off.

Re: unfair advantage
I would just like to meet a guy that's smart enough to be able to afford 47 of those cameras and yet still dumb enough to have hounds and want to hunt lions.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Re: unfair advantage
I'm thinking someone is beefing up this story. 47 camersa as $300 a pop is going to run a guy $14K plus another $500 a month in service charges. So you're telling me someone is going to drop $20K plus per year in just cameras and batteries. This also doesn't factor in the theft loss, downtime from failures, or simple no cell coverage problems. What does a guided lion hunt cost in AZ and how many lions does the best guide harvest in a year? If he's smart enough to figure out the cameras it doesn't take much simple math to figure out there's a better way to make a buck. Besides what happens if he gets a mid afternoon pic of a lion and can't get there until the next day. Or he's hunting in one area and can't get to the one that just sent him a pic. It all sounds great, but I bet there are more missed opportunities than one realizes.
Re: unfair advantage
Do the Math there is no way this is true. He would of paid over 16000 Dollars, and pays 1400 a month in service fee's. Maybe before posting you should think about posting second hand knowledge. Not to mention i bought one of these cameras thinking it would be a good idea and THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!! You have to basically have them in the city limits for them to work and they dont work all the time.

Re: unfair advantage
I thought about this for a few days real hard, and then I ran out and bought myself 30 of those cameras. Then I forked over all of the money for the service fees. And now I have one major hurdle. I am now in the market for between 15 maybe 20 dead broke lion hounds, that can take a track a week old. This is just in case I get multiple calls from the cameras, and it takes me a few days before I can get to them all.

I can't come up with all of those dogs, but I can give you locations where you can go to dig up about half of the dogs that you need.
The broke dogs that I have, I need. If you figure out how to hunt any of my old "dead" broke dogs, I'll buy half of them back from you!
Good luck!!

Re: unfair advantage
Wow Benny!!
That is really scary. I'm sure you were more than sincere with your offer. But I am very afraid that if word got out that I figured out how to make that happen. I would never have any time for hunting. I would spend the rest of my life digging. Because as you know the longer they are dead the better they get, and I would have people calling from all over the country. So I'm thinking that is probably just as bad of an idea as the cameras
.

Re: unfair advantage
Why use cameras? I google earth all the roads after a snow fall, saves huge amount a time and fuel.

I didn't realize google earth was updated that often. I learn something new almost everyday. Thanks for the info.
