I've been out hiking back country bowls and draws far away from other hunters and been having a blast. Was able to run this bob the other day and put him up a tree.

You've got the right attitude. You'd be one lucky man to make a bobcat dog in one or even two years. Takes time to make bobcat hounds.
Dog guys press on thru hardship and misfortune, eventually it works out. As long as your having fun it'll work out.
Congrats on the catch!
It Sounds like you have done all the RIGHT things to be a successful Bobcat Hunter: " You've got the right attitude" (to quote Blazenbrat)
You said "I've been on this site and others for years trying to get into the hound game, not an easy feat. Well after meeting some great guys I was able to get a started hound and a pup (Chase)."
Good Job! We preach all the time go find Successful Houndsmen/Hunters who Hunt the kind of Country you will be Hunting...then invest the time into learning the Game from them.....if you are persistent and the kind of Person the older Hunter respects and would want to meet in the Woods and have carry on and represent an Art-Tradition-way 0f Life very DEAR to them, they will see to it that you get a PROPER start with Hounds.
We suggest to want-to-be Bobcat Hunters from all parts of the Country "Invest TIME" with a Good Hunter Learning HOW to be a Bobcat Hunter (as apposed to How to Hunt a Bobcat) rather than BLOWING your hard earned money on some "Supposed to be Cat Catching wonder" offered for sale by one of these Computer Generated Wonder Houndsmen/Dog Jockeys!
There is MORE Bobcat Hunting information along with the name (most of the time a phone # also), who is successful Bobcat Hunter, for every part of the Country right here on BGH.....no where, at no time has so much help been available for a person wanting to take up the HARDEST of the Hound Hunting Sports!
Well.....It's to late now you have the sickness. Hearing dog's in your sleep, trying to see what your dog see's BY THE SOUND OF IT'S BARK'S . Frequently needing to reassure your woman that you think of her more than your dogs. But we all have it, so your not alone. Keep em in the woods and have fun. John.
I just started 3 winters ago, that first winter I walked a ton of tracks outs. I finally took another guy with me who had decent dogs (my truck, gas, food, etc) he got a bobcat jumped and I tossed my pups in after it got jumped. Treed quick after that and the pups were fired up. A week later I caught one all by myself with those 10 month old pups.
