garmin dc 40 moving gps to top like dc 30

Post by huntbear »

does anybody know of anybody moving gps receiver out of the plastic housing (dc 40) to the top of collar like the dc 30. My buddies and are having a heck of a time trying to track collars. I see that the alpha dog collars have went back to the 30 style for the gps. ive heard through the grapevine that somebody was doing this but cant find the forum. Any help would be great. Garmin has been no help.

DU Supply-Buddyw has done this with good results. He might again.

But I would see about trading the 40s for some DC 30s....again Buddyw would be the 1st person to ask....Bruce Conky in FL was taking 30s and 40s in trade for ALPHAs so he might have some.

But what I would do is wait for a couple of months and see if Garmin might come out with a new Collar for the 220-320 Astro platform....much like the TT100 ALPHA Collar. That is a rumor circulating. If so I bet Buddyw and others will offer a "Trade In" program....Just my thoughts!
