Best year/model toyota

Looking for input on this, I have a 99 Dakota now and not impressed with it for hauling hounds and what not. Thanks for the suggestions in advance.

Just about any before 2004. The newer ones aren't as durable to me. I really liked my t100 I had.

I have got a 99 tacoma 2.7L locker in the rear and geared down with 4.56 gears its been a great truck.

What motor was in it ? I'm going to look at one tonight with a 3.4. The t-100 only come in auto right ?

I have not a clue, I just liked how it got around and the layout of the interior.
