bitch bleeding 2wks after mating

i have a bluetick female that i had bred2 weeks ago today.went out to feed dogs and noticed she was dripping some dark blood. was wondering if this was normal or if i should get her in to the vet.today was the first that i have seen anything,i have been watching because a friend of mine said his dog got a bad infection about a month after breeding and lost his female.

How long did you wait after you first noticed her bleeding before you bred her. General rule says 10 days after first sign of blood before testing them with a male. Also the red should have turned a straw color. Have read if bred too soon might not get any pups. Al

she was bred on the 12th and 13th day and would not stand after that.bleeding changed to light color. i have had 1 litter out of her 2 years ago and didnt notice any thing like this.she only comes in heat once 1 year so i really want this to take.If there is still bleeding tomarrow when i get home from work i'm going to take her to the vet.she is my main start dog and cant aford anything to happen to her.

called vet today he said she could have misscarried. he asked if it smelled at all and if she was runing a temp. I said no smell no temp. he gave me some amoxacilin to give her soif there is a infection it should take care of it.told me to keep a close I on her and if she was still bleeding after the meds may have to spay her.

same thing happened to me , dark blood after matting , vet said uterus infection had to get her spayed or she would die, lost the pups but saved her, just my experience!!
