Couple tree's from the weekend

Post by mondomuttruner »

Had a couple of good runs this wkend, thought I'd share since it's raining out...AGAIN...It's hard to see the cats in the tree, camera was dead so I had to use cell phone. The dogs didn't locate the exact tree but were within a 50 yd radius of the tree, other than that I couldn't have asked anything more from them.

Like the name says...mutts...lol...I have a little bit of everything, walker/B&T/bluetick cross..grade plotts...that white dog I got from "Blackpaws" . He said it came out of Utah, some sort of Jeff Allen breeding. This is the first cat I put her on and am really happy with the way she worked. Still needs to lose about 10 lbs but working on it, if this weather ever straightens out...

Treed one a couple weeks ago in the same spot as one of these cats in the pics but for the life of me could not find it, dogs said it was up but no visual...I'm glad I found it this time. Probably the same cat I assume.

Looking good mondo, its raining here as well... right after it snowed. Hopefully can hunt after the storm though.

We generally get single digit temps after a snow/rain storm which shuts down the running for a while.

Unreal...Is that snow/rain typical in your part of the brush? Do the temps stay reasonable where it doesn't freeze up hard as a rock? We never got this crap years ago..Is this going to be the norm due to the "global warming"?

Normally we get snow or rain then it turns into good snow by the end of the storm... if its like this. We also get good snow as well... but its generally dec, nov, feb. I call this the january thaw, seems we get one each year. Funny how houndsmen are somewhat weathermen.

We also get hard after storms too, but it usually crusts up and is sugar below... always want to triple your snow machine track asap so you don't get stuck...

Our snowmobile trails haven't been open in 2 years. It would be nice to have more than 4 or 6 inches on the ground once in a while...lol..oh well, makes the dogs work a little harder for their keep...
