Lion Killed in Weber canyon?

Post by Cosmo »

I was driving down weber canyon the other day coming home from ice fishing and seen some houndsman with a cat. Just wondering if there was a story behind it? Im interested to hear, it looked like a nice one. I use to have dogs and now ice fish alot and seeing that brought back some good memories. Anybody know about this cat im talking about?

Weber has always been a good spot for lion> with the fire some years ago and the recent Mancos fire it has changed the dynamics of game movements in those areas. Weber has always been a real easy place to catch lions in the snow when they are there and there fore it has been a payday for many outfitters. You figure it out. It's a pretty good place to cash checks when things are right. AND THAT FOLKS IS JUST THE WAY IT IS.

And where in the world is Colorado Buck? LOL!

Oh sorry I guess I should be more specific. Weber canyon just outside of Oakley Utah on the way towards Smith and Morehouse. Does that help?

I didnt see there truck. They were pulling the cat off the hill and just seen them with the dogs and could just barely see the cat they had. So I think they were probably waiting for someone to come get them. Sorry wish I had more details, I was cruising by with a friend and wish I could of stop to see the cat. I always enjoy seeing them and hearing the story. I dont know many houndsmen so I didnt recognize any of them. There were three dudes if that helps. Lol

Well I hate to beat a dead horse, But if you know who killed the cat in Weber canyon, Utah January 30-31 Please tell him to read this. I have permission to run that property where you killed that cat and I was up there the day after you killed it on property you didn't have permission to be on. Well I originally thought you killed it illegally with a H.O. tag, so I called the Dwr had a officer come up and he took a blood sample, hair sample, And pictures of all your boots and your tires from your truck. Well I was just informed by the officer that you did actually have the right tag for that area and you did kill a tom. Which makes it better, not right. The reason I am reaching out to whoever killed this cat is we need to talk asap!!! The landowner is Pissed and as of today wanted to press charges for tresspassing and sense we have your hunters info from when you checked it in at the DWR they know who you are and with all that evidence you are good as dead!! I am a good dude and respect the sport and am not the type to get law enforcement involved. So Pm so we can keep the rest of the world out of this and keep it between you and me and we can try to figure this out and give me a good reason to try and talk the land owner out of charges, He has the points to draw that tag and was planning on the cat you killed for next year. So I wish you would of got permission the right way and we could of just avoided this all together. However it is what it is. So if you know who this message is about let him know, because its kind of important if not its going to be a much longer road in the court room and pricey one not to mention hunting right lost? Well hope to talk to you soon so we can avoid it all. I realize I didn't have to reach out, but I really am a good dude and don't want this to happen to a fellow hounds-men, Because we kinda need to stick together or else our sport will be ruined.
