fox on the run

Post by BrandonCombe »

Enjoyd reedIng alot of the storIes on here so fIgured I would take a stab at addIng one of my own. Went out the other day and took my dad and cousin along for the hunt my cousin started hunting with me a wile back and caught the fever the first night hunting and was hooked so I got him a pup that's ready to start hunting and the other day was the first time we got to take him out. we didnt hunt for more than a half hour and the tail on my blue dog start whipping another 40 yards down the road he shoots up the bank and a couple minutes later we heare him open so I feed 2more dogs into him an the race is on! we sit there and listen til they are out of hearing distance jump in the truck and try try to get closer. when we get around we hear them fall treed so we get the stuff together I turn the old guy in to the tree since he was pretty wore out from the day before and my cousin grabs the pup to lead in garmin says just over 500yds we start hicking and I hear the dogs take off again figuring what ever it was jumped tree we hiked back to the truck hoping the old dog catches up witch he does the dogs b line up the ridge straight away from us hoping they were gonna circle back but we wernt gonna be that lucky as we hear the dogs go out of hearing again we drove around to get as close as we can and could kinda hear the dogs again and sounding treed so we start the mile and a half hike in says the Garmin all up hill. about half way in we get into a couple hundred yards of mansanitta about 5feet talk and so thick we could hardly wade through it. starting to feel bad for my cousin trying to leash his pup through all of it we stop and wate for him as he comes through the brush we see that he has that pup about 35lbs laying across his shoulders like heed done it a hundred times that sure was a site and after a good chuckle we hiked the rest of the way to the tree to see a fox about 40 feet up so I decide to get a couple pictures and try to get the pup treeing but after about 2minutes that dam fox bales out of the tree and the race is on again so we decide to sit there at the top of the ridge and listen to them screem it down through the next dranage circle around below us to the left back up and tree on the back side of the next ridge over so we get back to hiking get over to the tree excited that the pup hung in the race and when we got there we wernt giving the fox a chance to jump again that was one of the harder running fox I've been on and one of the biggest I have treed and I had always thought it was pretty rare for fox to jump tree but this one jumped a couple times I planned on posting pictures but wasn't able to figure out how to post them on here mite have to see if the wife can help me out

Thanks dad's dog boy most f my dogs are just grade southern Oregon bred dogs and I haven't really looked in to the breading to hard I got a bluetick male coming 3in a few months leading my pack and is the youngest in my pack that I bred. I owned the female my buddy owned the male the female was an older black and tan males Bluetick with his dad being Cameron bred only had 3pups 2 black and tan and one really Bluetick pup witch I kept gave the other 2to friends and one that my buddy got dry ground a couple bobcat for him and was just about 2at the time then I got a really walker looking male hut his mom had some Bluetick in her another Bluetick walker that was given to me as a pup and never got his breading the guy couldn't keep him so I gavehim a shot at hunting that was 5 years ago and he dos good for me I also have an older male chase that came from Mr al Baldwin do not know his breeding either but he dam sure is a reliable old dog the only papered dog I have is my female she's Cameron on top utchmen on bottom I got her in hopes to breed my Bluetick male to if she proves her worth my male has proved his worth time and time.e again and his litter had pups exceed there parents so that's my goal for this litter but I want to make sure the female is one I would want to breed him to before I do since I'm breeding for a pup for my self and want to mAke sure the pups will be atleast what the parents are sorry idont have a big list of were they come from and all the big name lines just breed best to the best and hope for the best I've only bred the one litter because I want to be certain the pups I have will be ones that I'm proud to have my name associated with
