We spent the last few days in the Yaak looking for a tom for a friend. We found plenty of wolves and a handful of lions. Conditions were tough, but we treed one female for fun. I got a call last night from town that my buddies stacked two "land sharks" behind the house. It was just two miles from where the dogs were killed. We know this black female and have many pictures or her and her pups on trail camera. She has had at least three litters in recent years. She was 85 pounds and I am happy to see her gone. This group was headed south the day we were hit and we thought we were safe . It was a "sleeper cell" across the creek that got us.
The dogs were killed just behind the ridge in the background. Sweeeeeeet, Huh?

Re: Sadie & Ol' Roy
This was a real nice tom my dogs treed last year. It was a long race and we were right in the middle of the wolves when we caught the dogs up. My buddy with the tag started walking the track and found the cat sleeping under is fir tree about 300 yards from where we caught the dogs. He bolted and we got the dogs on him. He treed after another 3 mile chase less than 200 yards from where we turned out. This lion killed two dogs about 10 days earlier.

Sorry for your lose. Its hard losing a good dog and certainly two at once. We lost a good dog here last season in MN. Thanks for sharing the stories and memories. Good luck

This was a real nice tom that Ryker's dog Sadie treed by herself. Big brother Lane was the lucky hunter. It was a long day, not without some adversity, but in the end the dog work was outstanding
