Bobcat hunters in TN?

Post by Mrcrazyweasel »

Hello,

I've always been mainly a coon hunter, but what ive always wanted to get into is bobcat hunting with hounds. So i have a few questions. How many here in TN do it here? How do you do it? How does the chase usaully go? Also what is the best way to get into it?
Thanks

I was going to start this year but they banned it on cherokee nf. I decided to hunt in sw va. I got permission on quite a bit of land there. Lots of cats. Biggest challenge for me is finding dogs that can get the job done. My best dog (which aint saying much) is bear crazy. She will run a cat but will leave it at the first whiff of a bear. Most dogs around here are bred for coon or bear.
