ford trucks

Post by Jesse »

Does anyone hunt out of a f-150 with the eco boost. I was thinking of getting one but was curious how they do for gas mileage when hunting, also any other pros or cons about them would be appreciated. No one is harder on a truck then a hound hunter so who better to ask. Thanks Jesse

Fords get the best mileage because they don't run half the time so your good there...

Don't feel bad Andy, its the same with me. We have between 8-10 pickups of all makes and models in the woods everyday and if i could find one that got 14 mpg consistently i would buy a bunch of em. I always seem to get about half the mileage other people claim to get. My dad always gets the best mileage of anybody. ha ha ha

Scott, if he was getting that poor of mileage, there was something wrong. Over 65 on the highway and the mileage drops on mine to around 16.5. Running roads in 4 wheel drive will also drop it drastically.

If your computer isn't reading correctly, then you need to calibrate it. I calibrated mine when I bought my truck, then checked it twice, it was within a couple of tenths.
