Im from NC..What do you mean by putting some bobbies up???....Not like the west coast here you may put one on a limb but you must put intense pressure on him to make him climb.. It takes more time than just why the bears aint moving to have or start a pack to cat hunt...Good luck to ya!

Uh I'm getting the feeling that you may think i was saying it as putting a bobcat up is a piece of cake well in no way was i even suggesting that if that's the case. Now when you say intense pressure do you mean 10 head of dogs or just one or two that will put a lot of pressure on the cat. I most certainly know that it takes time not just while the bear ain't moving. Well thanks for boosting my confidence in even wanting to attempt to try it lmao. Seriously i appreciate the reply if i made it sound easy i apologize

Wont trying to bust your bubble... You may go with a cat hunter and see for yourself. It is rewarding when you put together a crew to run cat...but it takes time and alot of trial and error..Some think you can take a dog and gun and go tree one then pop and it is over...most cathunters don't use guns...and in the east and southeast we use running hounds and not tree hounds...all cats don't take to a limb, they dook it out on the ground ...Everyone has different opinions on the number of hounds...but good ones takes years to blossom and then they are gone over night and you need some to replace the great ones...I like a big choir and I also hunt alot of females and during cat season they may come in season and have to stay in the dug out for a few weeks and some times its tuff to round up enuff to go... Still I say.....Good luck to ya!

I Live in North Carolina and killed my first 3 Bobcats with my coon/bears dogs this season and all treed in 10-20 mins up big hemlocks. No size biggest was 20 pounds . I know of some people in my town running some up to 30 pounds , best time for me was cut loose at night. Just my two cents , but I'm by no means a cat hunter.
Big ridge kennels

its not the dog in the hunt, its the hunt in the dog
