Does Speed Matter???
Does it matter the speed your hounds have as far as catching cats? Or is slow and steady just as good?

Re: Does Speed Matter???
PRESSURE ends a Cat Race.....this can be STEADY or FAST. Depends on the Style and Purpose of the Hunter!
We like Strategic Speed on a Cold or Bad Track......Tactical Speed on a Jumped Track = a successful ending to a Cat Race!

Re: Does Speed Matter???
Yes, it matters. But speed with the ability to hold a track is more critical. A medium speed dog that doesn't make loses is going to catch a lot of cats, more than a fast dog that over-runs or makes loses consistently.

Re: Does Speed Matter???
Steady speed on a workable track is great and blistering acurate speed on a jumped cat is leathal in most cases. Andy
The home of TOPPER AGAIN bred biggame hounds.

I think steady and speedy will catch cats its having the least amount to zero mess ups. I think good pressure on a jump race is a huge plus.
