I use popcorn and syrup. I bought 3 air poppers and I go to URM and buy a 50 pound box of kernels for about 25 bucks. and make a couple big batches of syrup to make it sweet so they like it.

live stock, go to the local sale barn, buy the junk.
i.e: cancer eyed cows, foundered horses, jack asses, mules, goats etc..

I would also contact the local ranchers/farmers for any cattle that died from, just don't use anything a vet has put down with drugs, it'll cause you big problems and money.

Frier grease, just dump it on a old stump, the bears will come.

fryer oil by far the best. ive made bait stations with it on old log decks that produced for two seasons without replenishing it.
no mater if you think you can or you think you cant,, you are probably rite.

Molasses and dog food. A bear can smell it form miles away and he will leave a trail of molasses all over the mountain and the trail will lead right back to the bait.

I use popcorn. It is easy to get and pop. It really isn't the cheapest though. I take five gallons of popped corn, mix it with resturant grease. Then mix in a cup of strawberry jello powder. Throw in a handfull of brown sugar and mix. The jello powder keeps the rain from wrecking the popcorn as it puffs up the kernel. I also buy bait from" lucky seven bear bait" in Mn. They have everything you can think of in bulk. You can check out their website. They deliver anywhere.

There is another way for baiting that is very easy. Go to bearscents.com I have a buddy that uses their bait balls when he hunts in Alaska and he swears by them. They also have gels and paste stuff. They have about every scent you could think of. I seen them at a sportsman show in PA and the stuff was so strong that I thought my nose hairs were going to burn off. Anyway, anther thiught that is very easy. Good luck.

Depends on each situation. We have to fly everything into our camp so weight is a factor for us. So we use a lot of popcorn. Here's a picture from a week and a half ago. This dang thing followed me back to camp one day over a mile.

We use a TON of popcorn each year. It is great because it allows a baiter to travel farther in the wilds on foot to get the big boys. Last year we went to retreive a bear that fell right below the hanging bait. When we went to retreive the hunters bear there was an even larger bear leaning over the dead bear feeding out of the bucket that was full of mixed popcorn. He wanted that sweet stuff so bad that we had to throw rocks at him to get him to vacate the site. We had no weapons with us!!
