New Garmin Tracking/Shocking System

Post by peachcreek »

My only real issue with my 320 is it just drops communication randomly and then u have to get within 100 yards of the dog before it connects back up. If i have a go yonder dog drop communication it gets pretty scary and i have been real lucky so far that i found my dogs. I have seven collars and they have all been updated and so forth and have had four of the seven drop like this. i love the 320 but something has to give!! Recently i bought a telemetry system as a back up and between a dc collar, trash breaker collar, telemetry collar and a name plate collar the dogs neck is full. Lol

Myself and a friend have been running the Alpha 100 system since December and neither of us have had it show treed yet when dogs are treeing. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. They replaced the unit for me no problem but didnt fix the issue. Im thinking it must be the collars but I have updated everything to the latest version.

Mine has not either, does say there on point though. I was wondering if it had anything to do with what setting the update rate is set at.

That sounds like it may be an answer. I will have to try that. Mine shows on point and sitting all the time too but i have always had it on 2.5 sec. update. I have been on the phone with garmin several times about it now to no avail. but the tech department hadnt even heard about the issue yet as of last week.i called months ago about it but you just have to make sure they tell the techs. The more people that call the better. Maybe they will get on it quicker.

I leave mine on the 2.5 second update and it shows treed. Actually it shows treed a little too quick I think. It seems like my dogs don't have to be still for very long and it shows treed. I have my point alert turned off and my treed alert set on vibrate.
