It probably is better, I would imagine that it probably has a higher protein and fat content and better viatimins. Compare the analyisis of it versus what you are feeding now. If you are on a tight budget it might be the better way to go. When I was younger, before I got hounds, I raised pit bulls, I had some of the best looking and biggest pitts in Apopka Florida, I was young and was on a tight budget, all I fed my dogs was puppy food. Worked great!!

will not hurt them if you can afford it.. they might get loose stools when you first feed it. there are a good amount of decent dog foods out there that are less expensive.. if you listen to the wags that give the "dog food ratings", there is a lot of pot licking going on that has to do with who if funding the "study"--

in Wisconsin you could surely find some decent feed at a decent price...

I start feeding it to my females a week before I breed them and keep feeding it until she weans them.

Like Dale T. has stated. I also have fed it to my female for added nutrition during pregnancy and also in the winter to all the rest of the pack when it is cold and a guy hunts several days per week, you need the added protein and supplements found in puppy chow and on top of that, I feed raw beef meat scraps and fat in moderation, this seems to keep the weight on better than most feeds. The Problem with all feeds appears to be consistency. evidently those manufacturers buy bulk ingredients and I find my dogs look good with the same feed for only so long before I see a change in the dog. I suspect cheap ingredients from time to time for profits.
