Help me out, need some advice.
Help me out, need some advice.
So I bought this started dog, 1 1/2 old male, I have had him for about 2 months and he was fine got along with other dogs and everything, but the other day my buddy loaded his male up in my truck on the same side as mine, and he got growly with him so I pulled him out of the truck an put him on the other side, but the next day he was with a different male an they were treeing fine for about 10 mins then they got into a fight, nothing to extreme but its bothering the hell out of me on why he just started doing that, but I also have 3 females an 1 of them are in heat but she was at home at both times this happended, can someone give me some advice help me out?

What do you know about his lineage, does he come from dogs that have shown this aggression? He has reached the age where some males start to show aggression. Put the hammer down and show him no mercy. Those type dogs are bad news, if you think he is bad now it will only get worse with age if not stopped now. Good luck Al

Do you know the guy very well you got the dog from. Thats probably the reason the dog was being sold... How many times have you taken the dog out with other dogs in the two months? He might not have the chance to show you his dick head side. Like Al mentioned jump on it now and stop it if it doesnt stop then try getting it fixed that dont work then just forget about the dog..

I have had the same problem before, and totally agree with Al. Stop the problem now. Zero tolerance, or it will get completely out of control. Just my experience. This has worked with my dogs. Good luck.

A female in heat will sure get the testosterone flowing, even if the female wasnt right there. like said, gotta stomp a hole in 'em for that.

Re: Help me out, need some advice.
I have seen a number of times where a dog gets shocked that is in a fight, and I'm not sure that at that point they realize it is coming from the owner....sometimes I think that the dog thinks the pain is coming from the other dog and they get even more rialed up or the other dogs hears the yipes and goes in for the kill so to speak. The dog has to know that it is coming from you. When I say stomp a hole in em, that is a figure of speech, but I darn sure get after them plenty and will get him down or lay on him with a ear twisted or something and let them know I AM THE DOMINANT MALE! JMO.

While its possible the female in heat could have caused that, its best not to take any chances.Get rid of him!I would have to agree that that is why he was for sale.

If he's not crazy you can fix it. He just needs some work. Just don't let it snow ball in to a larger problem. I would take his nuts first thing that should make him see the light..
