Tail whipper issues.
Tail whipper issues.
My old hound just started tail whipping the other day. I've done the Vaseline and crazy glue. Now his tail won't wag and is drooping near the end. He's eleven now what can I do to save his tail.

I have a couple dogs that do that every once in awhile. I put a small amount of gauze and duck tape on the tip of the tail until it healed and it works. Hope this helps.

" take him to the vet and have a couple inches doc off " I agree, I Take mine to the vet and have them shorten the tail two to three inches.

I have used a protective car wiring jacket,it"s corrugated and you wrap your wires in it to keep them tidy. You can buy it almost anywhere,it's very light and flexible and works great. Just a couple of wraps of duct tape past where it ends on the tail and it sticks very well. Easy to put on and take off too.
