Scam on Amazon for David Peightal's Book!

Post by Dads dogboy »

Folks,

I just read where Justaguy had ordered David's Book from Amazon. I thought this odd so I looked it up on Amazon!

IT IS A SCAM!!!!!!

The Picture posted is the Pic. that I posted here on BGH. Some Creep in Georgia it says probably the Country of Georgia not the State has lifted the Pic and has listed the book at a price so cheap that people will fall for it!

DO NOT!

JC Padgett may have a few copies left but they are priced at $35.00 which includes shipping!

If Criminals would put their minds to creative GOOD WORKS rather than trying to Rip off some one as Good as David it would be nice....but then they would not be Criminals!

Justaguy hope that you are not disappointed.

John

Thanks for the information I have logged onto Amazon this morning and have canceled and reported the problem to Amazon as best as I could. They seem to be a company that keeps themselves out of direct contact with their customers as I see them at the moment. Any way you try and contact them they are or appear to be the third party. They allowed me to cancel and send a message to from_me_2_u, the sellers of the book, and commented that they monitor the messages for problems. I looked further on their site but I could not find any direct connection to Amazon where you could report problems. If anyone out there knows how to directly contact Amazon I would feel better than hoping they review my message to the sellers.

Good job Justaguy!

Amazon is so big with so many Vendors it is tough for them to Police them all.

JC might still have a Copy or two to sell!

If not it sounds like David will have the FINAL Edition ready later this fall!

Good Luck!

This creep has the books listed on all the book sites, Amazon, Al Libis, Abebooks, etc. so beware.

Maybe JC can tell us if and how many copies he has left for sale.

Well at least they have their story straight, he said the same thing to me except he elaborated that they got these books at an auction for lost items.

Fellows,

David and I talked about this several times yesterday. He has NO knowledge of any Books escaping his control. He is talking to the Printer later to day to see if they have lost any.

Bottom line is that they are Copy Righted to him and he has not authorized any one to sell them.

Federal and State Law Enforcement are working on it.

Newby if you have an email address on this guy please send it to me in a PM. Thanks!

I have sent a message to this From me 2 U .

GA Law Enforcement Knows who it is, but says that sometimes he does have legit items for sale as he is a Buzzard at unclaimed freight Sales. However he can not sell these Books with out David's authorization!

The Books that this fellow may have would be the Sample ones that David sent to folks for review. They have mistakes that he corrected and the New Title. Still it is funny that this fellow used the Pic off of here instead of making a new one???????

Will Post details as they develop!

It says he only has one copy of the book for sale. I suppose it is possible for him to have acquired one from someone who got one of the originals from david. It wouldn't be impossible to find out how he got a copy if he in fact actually does have one. I don't see how it would be against the law to sell a book that is now second hand.

Clint,

The Books this fellow has were lost by the USPS. Postal Inspectors and other Law Enforcement Agencies are working to find out how these 17 Books made it into this fellows hands. It is unbelievable that "Lost in Shipement" Books would be Auctioned this soon(the Books were lost in June). There appears to be Several Laws broken by Party or Parties unknown!

These were copies of the "Proof" Books that David sent out for review by people mentioned in the Book.....they were not to be for Sale!

David has not authorized anyone other than J. C. Padgett to sell any of the Books....these were a limited number of 2nd generation Proofs to be used to help defray the West Coast Bobcat Hunters Gathering.

Any used Books out there "Legitimately" acquired could and can be resold.....there are darn few of these out there!

Well that makes more sense. It does seem like something fishy is definately going on. One time the post office lost a money order sent to me and i had to wait 90 days until they refunded me the money. How is it possible for them to auction off books so recently lost. I have my copy of the book signed by David but you better believe it will never be for sale. I hope that things get straightened out and set right. Good luck.

Well, this book thing is kind of a fun roller coaster ride. Some times it's fun, and some times It seems a little out of control, and sometimes I think I might be feeling a little nauseous. I don't know what will come of it, and I cant predict if we are in for a whole series of little trials, but I will tell you a couple three things I do know.

A friend contacted me and asked if I was OK. I told him compared to a starving child, or someone born with no arms or legs, I was was doing pretty darn good. He replied that he was doing pretty darn good too when his hardships involve choosing which kind of cake to eat. I could relate. I have the same problem. So one thing I know beyond the shadow of a doubt: I am extremely blessed.

One reason I am so blessed is that God is ultimately in control. I read the end of the book and we won. Compared to what I read about the battle of Armageddon, some one selling my books before I do is of little consequence. I hope he is getting ready for Armageddon, or doing what he can to avoid it.

Another reason I am so blessed is having friends like you all, and in particular: Carey Clay.

Let me tell you something. If you know some one that Carey Clay considers his friend, you better not even LOOK LIKE you might be hurting him. I dont care what you do or where you go, Carey will hunt you down. I mean he knows where this guy lives. He knows this guys history. He knows what happened to the lost books that I grieved and let go of long ago. He knows all policies regarding said books and the USPS. He knows any point where what happened with those books might not be consistent with said policies. He knows any potential laws that may have been broken. Carey could have made a lot of money as a lawyer or a private investigator or detective. All I can say is it is good to have a friend like Carey, and I would not want an enemy of his caliber.

He reminds me of this story I just heard. An army of insurgents saw a US Marine run up over a small hill. The man in command points to 5 soldiers and says "go over there and take him out". So they go over the hill and the sky is lit up with combat, and no one comes back.
So he looks at 15 of them and tells them to go get him. Same thing: intense fighting and no one comes back. So he calls for the whole platoon to go over there and get this marine. Same thing: intense fighting, except this time, one warrior crawls back. "Sir, it's a trap. There's two of them."

It must have been Carey John Clay and his dad, E. Finney Clay. Good folks to have on your side.

I am blessed beyond measure.

So don't worry about me or about the book. No matter what happens to the book, I have some pretty good friends. We will do what we can, and not do what we can't. This book was not supposed to be for sale to the general public. If we can stop that from happening we will. But what ever happens, I have my arms and legs. I am most thankful.

The thing about it that seems a little creepy is: why would this guy come on Big Game Houndsmen and lift the photo of the book that Carey posted months ago on here? That is what he used on his Amazon ad. It means he knows who I am and how to get hold of me, (along with all the contact info in the book.) It is just kind of weird to think about. Who else is creeping around here, I wonder.
