Anyone With Black and Tan Hounds

Postby dylandoering » Sun Jul 28, 2013 9:51 pm

Hi, everyone, i really really want some black and tans, i live in lincoln nebraska and i really want to get into coonhunting, ive done a ton of research and i think i have what it takes to train a hound, ive trained lots of labs, but as you all know hounds are probably one of the more difficult dog breeds to train, anyone who currently has black and tans, registered or not could you please comment on this, i dont care how far away you live, i am getting a black and tan

I've got black and tans and love them. There amazing dogs, biggame, bear, lion, fox, coon etc. I got lucky there natural born hunters. They have struck and treed there one game since a under a year old. Coon four months, bear and fox seven months. Every hound breed has there good and bads. Black and tans are tree dogs and they will track and tree anything you want them to with the training. If you want a black and tan get one just put the work into training the basic commands any dog should know then get them into the woods as much as possible. Thats the key to making dogs. Hunt, hunt, hunt. Good luck when you get one post pictures of it.

Matt Nohr has some great Black and Tan hounds and is from NE. He lives in the northern part of the state. I think he is on this site from time to time.
Adios,

Dylan, I see you live in Lincoln. I am an hour south of you in Table Rock. I have some darn nice hounds in my opinion. I own a hound with Don Egli and I am buying half interest in one of Bill Mack's dogs. Whenever my female I own with Don Egli comes into heat she will get bred to NITECH Southern Rage. Pups will be $300.
