Trapper Wayne Murdered!

Trapper Wayne, a Linn County Oregon trapper was murdered last week in the high Cascades at his camp near Harter Mountain. Wayne was a non-reclusive trapper in the since that he camped year round in the Harter Mountain and Canyon Creek areas. He lived in his wall tent and made his living as an expert trapper. He was a quiet, mild-mannered, forgiving, person. I wish there were more men like him including myself. Two men in Utah have been arrested and charged in connection with his shooting. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. August 7th in Lebanon, Oregon at the Church of Latter-day Saints. I hope all of his friends will attend. Spread the word. More details at democratherald.com. This hits too close to home....This man bothered no one....He lived by the code of the land and lived like most can only dream. It won't be the same on the mountain....I have spent a life time and traveled the same roads over four decades and Wayne has been on top the Mountain as long as I can remember. I passed many of his remote camps going to and from the hounds and never knew he was around.... This world is not right to take the life of an innocent man for no reason....R.I.P. Wayne Clavano.

How very sad!! Everyone needs to be watchful. A few years ago some evil people killed a family in Sam Houston Natl forest not far from me. A friend of mine had just left the camp and heard the shots. It is hard to believe that there is such evil in the world.

for this reason i always carry my pistol with me when i camp any where in the woods , only prolbem now , here in cali the forest service cops are giving people around here trouble for carring a gu in the forest , down south of my area the local sherrif has taken away the piss fur willies power to mess eith the locals . just beware big govt wants us all out of the woods ,all together jim

Your sure right about that. Hikers do not have to wear orange but hunters do for that reason. If he would have shot them in self defense he would have most likely gone to jail.
They carry guns and they do not want you to have one. The game wardens and police dress like special operations operators. I think they would be much more help if they would try to make friends instead of looking for what you doing wrong. I feel for you Cali guys as I remember when this was a free country.
