Anyone know of any way to add a roof antenna to a FRS/GMRS band radio? Or maybe bump up the power a bit?
We run yotes & everybody shows up with these radios. So I was wanting get better range from the truck.

i'm no tech. when it comes to radios but i have used several types and i can tell you if you are looking for range, there is a handheld made by ICOM that is the best i have ever seen or used. the range is unbeleivable. i'm talking several miles. the model is IC-v82 and i think they sell for around $110.00. they are a vhf radio and i also have the ICOM 2200h radio in my truck i think those go for around $140.00 they work very well in the big mts. that we have around i hunt. you can look them up on the web at ham radio outlet or google icom radios. good lock
