dc 30 only turns on when plug into charger

I have a dc30 that only turns on when plug into charger when i unplug it stays on for a few mins then turns off, it says fully charged during them few mins. Thinking battery, but if anyone else has had this happen let me know how you fixed it. Thanks

I realize that this post was a while ago, but I have a dc30 that is doing the same thing. Where you able to figure out how to fix it? Or has anyone else had this same problem? Thanks
