Just wanted to say hello
Hello from Central Florida,I've been slipping around on this site on my Iphone for a month or so , actually have read everything on the Bobcat Section. My Dad came to the cowpens where I was working after school on my 16th birthday and told me that he had gotten me 4 walker gray fox, cat dogs for my birthday and that they were in the pen at the house. i'm 56 years old now and been eat up with it every sense! I have an opinion on a few threads that I've read and will try to chime in on some of them in the future. also have a few stories and can tell about the running I grew up on, although it is mostly gray fox running but when or if we came across a cat track it was Game on, if anyone is interested. It is good to know there are other folks [I think] like me in places I never would have dreamed of!

Scrubrunner,
Glad to see you have found the Best Site in the Etherworld for Bobcat Houndsman.
Florida is the Best Place in America to have Running Hounds!
Hope you can make it up to Dixie and Taylor Counties and make a Hunt with us later this fall.
Where are you located?
Again Good to see you on here and hope to read your thoughts.....do not be afraid to add to any of the Old Threads in the Archives.....sometimes this yields some very good exchanges!

Yep.. You got me by 10 years on the age... I started running grey fox when I was 12 and rabbits before that... Cat's is my passion but I love to run the fox as well especially during the "green beans season" and on occasions during the winter when the temp heats up to 60 or above degrees I will put em after a fox... I love the chase!!!! NO DOUBT.. Glad to puter meet you!
Re: Just wanted to say hello

Re: Just wanted to say hello
Thanks everyone for the welcome. Dadsdog boy I am in Sumter county about 20 miles south of Ocala. Yes the running used to be great around here but ALL of my running grounds are now housing devlopments! We only have the Ocala Nat. Forest to run in now and that is only for about 6 months. I would love to meet y"all at Taylor and Dixie Co. to hear some real bobcat hounds run the cat,Ihave not heard that in a years. Ron why do you wait till above 60 degrees to run the fox? just wondering. BLAINE

Re: Just wanted to say hello
Because here in NC the humidity stays around 20 to 30 percent on them cold dry days... Not like Florida, yall have humidity about everyday... If our temp will reach around 60 degrees in the winter we may have enuff humidity to run a grey fox and and the dogs can get under him instead of just following... God give me cats so I can have something to run on the bad smelling day's!!!
