hound house and beding questions

Hey hunters hope the weather is cooling off. It hit 35 here in maine. I was wondering what everyone used for houses. I have 4 hounds, I have one in a dogiglo, one in a traditional wood house and 2 males in barrels. I been beding them with shavings both fir and cedar. I just picked up a bale of straw for 9$!!! yikes!! half a bale for 4 dogs. I have printed off a set of plans on here I think I found it here. thanks for any imput. ~shane
