Dc 40 charging issue

Post by Rocketdeerdog »

I have a dc 40 that I've had for a couple years. Last two weeks when I try to charge it instead of the blue light going solid after its charged it goes out and the collar isn't charging. I've cleaned the contacts, tried different chargers, and reinstalled current software. Anyone had this problem or any idea what's going on?

Thanks

Have you had the unit open prior to this condition? Have you tried a hard reset of the unit(disconnect the battery for 30 minutes)? If not try the hard reset, and yes it does need 30 minutes. If that doesn't help it could be the battery but sounds more like a charging problem. It might be in the charging circuitry which is part of the collar or in the connections/wiring somewhere between the charging contacts and the plugs on the inside of the unit. The wall cube and cigarette lighter adapters only supply the power at the proper voltage and amperage and don't sound like the culprit. If you have another DC40 you could try swapping the lower housings w/batteries installed and see what happens.
