Post by ksbolen »

I'm the daughter of Bill Croghan. Anyone have a hound from one of dad's dogs?

I don't have any but the bloodline has always interested me. I'm in NC and not a lot western bloodlines here that I know about do run hounds now? You might find some on www.masterfox.net at times there's a lot on there there's another board I've seen them on regular but can't think of it right now

You will find a Breeder of your Dad's line of Hounds on OK, and several in Canada.

Contact Chase Publishing in Lexington, KY and they will be glad to give the contact info for these Breeders.

Most Coyote packs who are successful regularly will have some Crogan breeding if not a Purebred Hound!

I'd love to hear or read stories about your dads hounds. Not the watered down stuff that folks still call them Croghans but the real deals.

At one time I was looking for a run to catch Croghan hound to try on hogs...and if he worked out I was going to breed him to one of my best females...never found one...someone mentioned a Hale/Croghan cross that consistently caught lots of coyotes...sounds like one I wouldn't mind trying out...

There are several dogs out there that consistently catch coyotes. They come in all shapes, sizes, color, and blood lines. Find somebody who catches a lot of coyotes without spiking either fresh hounds or greyhounds and you will find the right dogs.

I have in the past.
Got mine from boys in Mo. and Illinos,
I remember Indian Croghan which produced
Manns deacon.
They were good dogs, mine had some other
crosses though.
Flat kill a coyote.
