What do you do?

Post by RLM »

So when you are trailing a lion and you have some of your dogs take off on elk or deer. And you get some of them shocked off but some stay on the elk or deer. So after you make it to the lion in the tree with the dogs that listen to you. then you go find the dogs that ran the elk but by this time they are walking up the road. Do you disiplene (SP) the dogs even though it has been hours since they have been running the elk. What do you guys do?

No, I wouldn't discipline them. I would buy more shocking collars. Their time will come.

X2 on the replies above. If it has been that long since the trash run and then you discipline them when they are coming to you you are only teaching them to not come to you. Discipline them in the act and they can relate to what the punishment is about.

That is exactly what i have been doing. I did not want to punish them when it has been that long after. I was just seeing what everyone else thought. Thanks.
