Anyone ever have to remove a hounds nipple?
I have a male with two very large nipples that get frozen when I hunt him.
I have to think he would be more comfortable with them off.
Can I just cut off blood supply? (elastic or thread) or should they be cut off?

Re: Removing a nipple
Put a rubber castration band, like they use on sheep and calves, around the base of the nipple.

Re: Removing a nipple
I cut one off an old male dog one time and was shocked at the amount of blood pumping out. I grabbed it to stop the bleeding while the guy that owned the dog ran and got a needle and braided fishing line. We got it sewed up alright and the bleeding stopped and the dog healed up fine. But I would not do it again! Try the castaration band.
