Zimectrin Gold
Done some research, read all the info that is on here, however I've noticed a lot of opinions from people who have never tried it, would like to hear some input from people who use it or have used it in the past. What are your opinions?how does it do with intestinal worms? What are you giving for doses, etc.. I understand im gonna get responses about horse wormer not being safe due to dosage, etc, I am looking for opinions from people who have experience with it.. Thank in Advance.. Mike C.

Re: Zimectrin Gold
I have used it for a couple of years and am satisfied with the results. All my dogs are 40+ pounds. I give each of my dogs a monthly dose of Ivermec orally (.1 cc / 10 lbs. body weight. 2 or 3 times a year I substitute with the Zimecterin Gold. Each tube will worm a 1200 Lb. horse.... therefore I use one tube per twelve dogs..... There are 12 marks on the plunger....I dispense 1 mark on my finger and wipe it on their tongue. I never give it to small, young dogs or puppies. I have heard of some puppies being killed by it. One guy I know killed a whole litter.

I use it too. Only wormer I use on my grown hounds. I just use one notch on the plunger (maybe a pencil eraser sized dab) per hound. The tube I use has more than 12 notches ( probably 25-30). The culls appear to be worm free, though I don't take fecal specimens to the vet to test them...
Just what works for me (and its cheap), I'm sure it doesn't work for others, and I'm sure others think I should be using something else/more(and maybe I should be).

Re: Zimectrin Gold
I have been using it for about 3 years on my big hounds.. see no signs of tapeworms now!
the dosage goes by weight--
only use it twice a year... rest of the time I use Pyran 50 about ever 3 months and Ivomec the 1st of each month ---diluted 1part in 10 then 3/10 of a cc of that for a 95 lb hound---that is 300 micrograms of the active ingredient----- check on the label of heartguard--- for the large dogs it says 291 micrograms

Have tried it with very poor out come went back to regular wormer for dogs. Its more spendy but well worth it. jmo Andy
The home of TOPPER AGAIN bred biggame hounds.
Re: Zimectrin Gold
I use Equimax its cheaper than Zimectrin, has the same ingredients but stronger & seems to really work good.1 tube does a 1320lb horse & I use 1 notch for each dog, 12 per tube.
Re: Zimectrin Gold
I hunt beagles and they need wormed almost every month because the rabbits here are pretty mangy. I've had great luck with Zimectrin but I only use it when I see tapes in my dogs stool. I have a 8 year old beagle that has used it every year. I have just heard that you don't need to use it every worming because it does overdose the dog on the ivermectin.
Re: Zimectrin Gold
I've used it for years. I give about a pinky nail full to each grown dog . I like it more for the heart guard. As for other worms my dogs rarely get worms being on this stuff but I feel like its a very small dose for other worms so I recommend giving your dogs illium pyraquantal pills every 6 months with it. I've done this for over 10 years and have healthy dogs.
