It is about the Griz. Many of us have tried talking sense into them about the positive biological impact it would have by allowing houndsmen to run and tree bears rather then the alternitive. All around better opportunity in evaluating a sow and making sure she has no little one's.

Its real simple, I actually met with our regional manager today and we did discuss the possibility of running spring bear with hounds in the future but right now they have enough on there plate trying to keep our lion hunting open and trying to get the wolf season open for this fall that bear is not an issue for them.

There is a new anti rep that lives in missoula who belongs to some new anti orginization that there staff is made up of nothing but lawyers and biologists. He is already complaining about incidental killings of grizzlies in the libby and yak areas. As Jim explained in those areas they are suppose to be under a "0" tolerance and can easily be shut down to all forms of hunting if this gets through.

I have been one of there biggest critics but after working with thme first hand on the lion permits here in region 1 they have enough on there hands and are doing what they can.

Isn't Montana the most hunted state next 2 Texas, It is also known for its hunting...correct.
So it sounds like 2 me that you all havent banned together and fought hard enough, cause I would suspect that if every houndsmen and houndsmen advocate in montana could put a little pressure on and get your rights back.
I'd start by coming up with a strong case as 2 WHY you should be able to run bear. This is why we all need 2 join a universal club and donate every dollar we can to fight off the stupidity.

I agree. It would be nice if we had an NRA for houndsmen.I would take a chance on $20.
