Wool pants and underarmour for a base layer (either "cold gear" brand or normal depending on temp)......Light and easy to dry off, works great for me. Nothing better than wool IMO. I can't even wear blue jeans in the summer while hunting, no way I could in winter.

if it is truly cold I wear wool pants.but if it is warmer it is better light fast dry pants and merino wool underwear with a waterproof shell over..delete the waterproof shell if colder no merino wool if warmer...biggest deal I have is being too warm and that is pretty typical to minus 20c.
