Colorado houndsmen

Post by ilchaf »

I bought my first big game hound (a 5 1/2 yr old kemp bred Walker) and want to go after a large cat that crosses through my property. I was wondering if there are any houndsmen out there in Colorado that would want to go out with a newbie and bring their dogs so we have a big enough pack to hunt this big lion. Message me if you are within range to go into some rough terrain near Colorado Springs and can do a Saturday hunt when the weather is right.

Thanks

You'll have to go when the cat crosses, might not necessarily be on a weekend or when the weather is good.

I wish I could hunt any day of the week but I still work Monday through Friday. My property borders into state land and we can walk for miles. There are no roads for access so I thought when I have time off of work and a fresh snow, then I can take the dogs and go for a walk. It might end up being a long walk in the woods with my dog, but I figure a walk in the woods with a dog is never a bad thing.

I have game cams picking up the lion on my property and then about 1 1/2 miles in on remote public property.

With those stipulations, how would be the best way to get this cat?

I wish! To much debt to do that. My dog is supposed to do dry land hunting also and someone has dry land dogs who might come up. Appreciate any help.

I'm with fish, quit your job and hunt every day. You'll find out soon enough it's hard to spend money if you're not making any. HA!
