I started taking my daughter at a little over a year old. She is 2.5 now and I have to sneak out now if she can't go. Luckily my dad is my partner and he stays with her if the going gets rough. I was at my first tree at two weeks old and have never looked back. I can only hope my daughter will keep enjoying it like I always did. Man I have a ton of memories with those old hounds when I was just a little guy.
They never too young if you can get them in the mountains before those video games take a hold of them you've won a big battle my 11 (hunter)year old was at bear trees and cougar trees when he was 1and2 years old. My 6 year (fisher)old was at a mountain lion tree 2 years ago that he still talks about the big kitty jumping out of the tree over his head (we don't tell his mom about that)point is my kids would rather be in he mountains or next to a standing next to a lake fishing it might be a little hard but in the long run it'll be worth it for you
I would say kids are never too young to go...yes it might be a little more work but it can be very rewarding...spark their interest early then they can advance and learn a lot of useful skills.
