I am sure this topic has been beat to death before but I cant seem to locate it quickly. I have a Garmin 220. Going to upgrade to the 320 soon. I have a big marine radio. Adjusts to 5, 10, 30 then 75 Watts I believe or in some combo like that. Does the Garmin 320 still have the issue with the radios and them burning out at high watt ratings? Trying to get the truth about this. I generally only run my radio on my low 2 setting which I think is the 10 watt but just don't want bad things to happen.
Also going to buy the truck antenna for the Garmin as we are starting to hunt bigger areas. Does this affect anything in anyway?
If this topics has been discussed just shoot me the link please. Want to do my homework on this.

Re: Garmin vs. Marine Radio
I was told by Garmin that any radio over 5 watts will have effects on your unit for the 220 that's is I recently just fried three of them in a month an Garmin claimed it was to do with the marine radio. I've only heard through rumor never confirmed that the 320 has had zero reports of frying due to marine radios I still have my 220 s but I also upgraded...I report if my unit frys from the radio
