Flag tail genetics

I was bored last night thinking to myself about my walker dog I have. Where did the flag tail genetics come from and why doesn't other breeds have them consistently. Its been a boring last few days as you can tell!!!

Most of the old July hounds have the flag tail

Back when a hound was a hound 60 plus years ago there were curs, blood hounds old stile blueticks and fox hounds. A lot of the fox hounds had flag tails. Most of the modern breeds go back to some fox hound. When I started hound hunting in the '60's very few walkers were out west most had heavy hair and flag tails. Dewey
