I am so sorry to hear of the loss of a legend in not only his time but every other cathunters time now and ever will be! I never met him and only wish that I could have... And I have only met Carey by phone, but I know he loved his dad and will miss him dearly! I pray God will give Carey the strength to carry on what his Dad has done for many years! God Bless the whole Clay Family!

My condolences to the Clay family. Glad I was able to meet him in person at least once. He will be missed. Forever may he chase the short tails with his prized dogs.

God bless you Mr Finney. Give Rip and Penny a Pat on the head for me. Mrs Ruth you are one of a kind. I cant think of anyone else who could have made the journey with Mr Finney, other than you. So after 60 + years you can turn off your hunting light, and take a well deserved rest, you don't have to bobcat hunt any more. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God bless Ted Smith

I don't know if I'm qualified to say this because I did not know Mr. Clay but I think he had a life well lived and left more than he took. I hope I'm blessed enough to have the same said about me when my spirit goes back to God.

My condolences to the Clay family...

I was lucky enough to have hunted with mr. clay at his house and have him hunt with me in Oregon. A very good houndsmen to say the least. He would always say, Ask me a question son? He was a book of knowledge and was kind enough to give it to you. I don't know about heaven or hell but I think he was in heaven at least the last 5 or 6 years that I knew him. A wonderful wife , a great pack of catdogs, a personal dogboy , a dirty half full spit cup and all the time in the world to hunt. He will be talked about for years and years. His legacy will be of a great houndsmen who lived for his dogs and the pursuit of the shorttail . I pray u are in a better place mr. clay. To the clay family I say im sorry for your loss and the rough battle u have faced these last 6 months. I will see u guys in may if everything works out.

A former teacher of mine just passed away from Alzheimers. I didn't even know that it could kill a person til a few days ago. She was only 57. I had never heard of that in my life. Anyhow it must be some horrible horrible thing to deal with and I am so sorry to hear that about your dad partner. You take care now.
