Troy, Oregon Wash out.

Yesterday, I was checking my Facebook account and came across this. We all had heard the wildcat grade road had washed out... but never heard of any word of BLM. I saw this and started doing some background checking. I have a co worker who knows one of the county workers for the area. They were working on the wash out when told to leave it alone by BLM. I called this number a few times and no reply. I also called a local shuttle operator which uses the area. He said he had talked to the head BLM guy and they were going to have enigenners come look at it and was going to fix it. My question is why is a federal agency working on a county road ? Seems awfully fishy to me! Please try to contact whoever you can to make sure this roadway remains open. Its a key road to the area for fishermen, hunters and many other locals!

Thomas, don/t know anything for sure about that situation. However my work experience, tells me the federal is getting involved because that area has been declared an emergency by the feds and money will be granted to repair the slide, or it may be owned by BlM & LEASED TO THE COUNTY & BLM could then have to give the county permission to make repairs. Believe, that may be a good thing, at times I know federal money has been granted in Coos County after bad winter storms to repair roads. Some of these would have not been repair, otherwise, because the county did not have enough in there emergency fund. I am as guilty as any at times of speaking unfair of the feds, but, they often do some good. The old Democrat! aL

Believe they come from federal taxes, sure not saying these funds could not be better managed at times. Was NOT referring to your comment, just admitting I have been guilty of be critical of projects before realizing the county benefited from those and repairs would not have been completed without federal money. Blue you are way ahead of me in my knowledge of the federal , but, I realize there is a tremendous amount of mismanagement. I also do not think it makes much difference what party is in power. I wanted to see what was going on before posting a response here and got a report straight from the horses mouth. I was told to call that number you posted and levy a complaint to Lori Wood.....I have deep connections and a love for Wallowa County and the road closure is a direct result of Blm hastily demanding Wallowa County cease and desist in repairing the blow out. BLM claims ownership of the Promise road while Wallowa County has maintained it for many decades. I confirmed the information on facebook to be accurate in an attempt to bring awareness to this situation. I spoke with an old friend who is County official whom will remain anonymous for reasons we all understand....

I have another contact with the publisher of the local Chieftain paper and will be in contact asap. Wallowa County would need to file a lawsuit against BLM to regain their rights but doesn't have the resources to fight this battle in court, so it surrenders its rights to BLM. I'm currently engaged in a similar property rights dispute and currently being sued by a private corporation that was gifted millions of Oregon State lottery dollars under Connect Oregon legislature grant money give away program (Our dollars, not Governments for those that don't get this!) to repair a railline leading to nowhere.....

Government defined in Oregon as a majority of hostile liberal socialist Democrats believing in giving money out defined as redistribution of wealth to the so called have nots and private business to create an equal playing field has created a monster for legitimate working folks. The rail line that crosses my property was put in after my road and home and done so over 85 years ago and once Government enabled this private business, currently showered with the twenty five million of our dollars, decided to use the money for litigation against we the people since there is no commerce and never will be unless we regain our State by kicking all the Democrats out of office, until then?

We watch our timber go up in smoke on Federal grounds and declare a State of victory for employing thousands of wild lands firefighters to the tune of 750,000,000 to one billion dollars annually putting out forest fires across Oregon.....The same Democrat party is the same bunch that killed the wood products industry in Oregon in the first place and when the sawmills dried up, so did the railroad...How about that! Amazing how commerce and free markets work!

We the citizens of Oregon will rally the troops and go to battle one more time with BLM. If they win this battle, they chalk one more up for total control and done so under the direction of a President who is Hostile towards Americans defined as we the people, our hounds, our guns and way of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness......Then we need to remove about 95% of the GOP next and establish term limits!

I though of myself as a little guy or one of the "people'....I'm just about up to my eyeballs with liberalism and back door antics...Not sure how much more I can afford out of pocket before I simply join the Obama express....Not much incentive to try and do right in this world....How does a Government continue to think we will just roll over and allow more of our rights be stripped from all of us...One party is simply a laughing disgrace and the other is doing their best to close the gap.

I guess it is one thing to have a road closed and Government behind the closure and totally another when Government plays robin hood and takes Our money to enable others only to use the money from we the people to file a lawsuit against the same people that made the money possible in the first place...You can't make this stuff up! By the time my law suit is over, possibly in the next two years, We will be close to $250.000 in legal fees and if we lose? Well it will be all of our personal homes and properties. Not sure I have earned the right to be harsh? I do know one thing with out a doubt, that is why I'm not a Democrat...Can't afford much more of the party that looks after the little guy!

Interesting thought about Hempstreet...He thinks he owns the only other road that enters the same drainage coming from the south and is hostile towards travelers, owns the Shilo Inn at Troy and should be impacted by a lack of travel access from Wallowa Oregon. He is known to cut his nose off to spite his own face.... Wallowa County also maintains the road through his place...I remember when he bought that ground years ago and tried kicking the local residents off the old pioneer cemetery located on his property where all the locals are buried.....Yup, Hempstreet factor!

Agenda 21 is very real and with our current administration it's shifting its implementation into high gear. I started a thread awhile back alerting sportsmen of the real threat to their outdoor liberties. You can't hunt, trap,fish or whatever you like to do in the outdoors if you can't get into the woods. Folks wake up and start doing your research on these elected officials. Most are authoritarian POS in both parties!!! Start educating others of the tyranny we are under. Register to vote and research your choices carefully. Get involved before it's too late!!!
