Trail Camera Competition
Folks
Up in the lion section a post about trail camera pictures has spawned an idea to have a best trail cam picture contest for the BGH board members in the name of fun...Buddy W. has agreed to sponsor this event with a $250.00 Gift certificate for the winner.
Here is the problem? How do we implement this?
Do we make a category for more than lions? I vote yes, one for Bear, Lion, Bobcat and even ungulates with a four or five way split on the gift certificate or $50.00 per category....
Lets get some input feedback going
Thank You!

Or lop them all together. Another question is exisiting photos or do they have to be within a time frame to give everyone the same footing ? Once you decide let me know. I'm in on it. Elk for sure. I would give a shot for the others but I haven't done it be fore.

Re: Trail Camera Competition
I think it should be a new picture in a certain time frame. Maybe a 2 month time frame ?
Re: Trail Camera Competition
I like the idea of having a time frame, but then the issue becomes what the time frame is. I agree with categories. Another question, can you enter more than one pic or just one? One for each category or multiple pics in each category?
Re: Trail Camera Competition
I have entered these kinda deals before in outdoor mag contest seems the one of the mamma fox feeding her pups at the hole always pops up. I think time frame is a must lets say in the last calender year. Also NO photo shopping!!! All should appear as they were took with camera stamp present.jmo.... I would also make it one lump deal and maybe limit it to 1,2 or 3 photos apiece. again JMO Lance

Re: Trail Camera Competition
Mike maybe you should make a poll with a couple of options then we can just roll with whatever gets the most votes. However it works clb and a couple others on here are automatically disqualified. Maybe that'll give us other regular guys a chance. hahahaha

That bull in an area you could possibly monitor him? Many years ago your area produced some strange racks prior to the management plan for the Wenaha GMU...I seen some strange horn formations but that bull looks like it injured itself possibly at some point in time....
My cam pic of the big bull is in Southern Oregon in a region that for many years never supported any Elk and last fall I found the first sign in the 27 years that I have been going to S.W. Oregon.
We need to include a little story about each entry.

Re: Trail Camera Competition
Most cams also have a short video option. My best pics are by far the 30 second video clips because they show some action as well. Maybe a video category too. This could get way too complicated with too many different categories so I'd suggest keeping it fairly simple, at least this first stab at it.

Re: Trail Camera Competition
Okay, so June 1st through October 31st. No video clips, time stamps required. Just one question who is/are the judge/s?

Zach
I have been flooded with request for a video category like Dean suggested? Keep it simple to start out...June 1 for openers and November 30th to complete for the fall hunters participation with two final winners @$125.00 each gift certificate. Judges are the majority on this board.
