New to Sport, could use advice plz

Never owned a hound, trained dogs before but always wanted to get into it, I know how it's done and my neighbor has a hunting hound but, I've always heard hounds don't do well in town, I live in Lincoln and I would be able to hunt the dog lots and take it out to state recreation woods to run it and train it( no one ever goes there I don't know why) is it stupid to even ask if it'd b fine to own a hound and go to high school, while living in town?

Some of my best memory's was hound running when I was in high school. Take one of your high school buddies with you each time you go. I took one that wasn't that close of a friend at the time that had never heard a race in his life. He went crazy over it, was a natural, he can pick a hounds mouth out of a pack of a pack of 25 or 30 hounds better than anybody I've ever hunted with and became the closest thing to a brother I'll ever have. Those hounds probably kept us out of a lot of trouble back then. Go for it,hunt them all you can and do whatever you have too, to keep them quite at home.

Try to find some hunters in your town, be very polite,don't think i would ask to go hunting with them, just let them know how interested you are about getting a hound and hunting. Some guys will give a good hound to a young man in high school if they take a shine to ya and might even ask you to go with them. If they ask you to go don't take any buddies with you then, You are a guest. Good luck

You might want to get the Walk with Wick books,
they will teach you a lot about hounds and hunting..

Be wary of getting a dog from a dog jockey.( dog trader)
