Black Hills Wy?

Post by Beimel »

I'm looking to go out this fall and hunt before the snow hits. I'm looking for tips if anyone has any. Is there much vegetation? How dry is it in the national forest? My dogs also run foxes.. Are there many there that would cause me a problem? It's a dream of mine just to tree a lion with my own hounds. I would like to kill a good one, but just to tree a female or small tom to just get pics of would be great too. Any tips would be fantastic! Any comments or pm's would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Been out there deer hunting a few times. Yes it seems pretty dry lots of pine forest not a lot of under brush not sure about fox been going out there to visit family since I was a kid and have never seen a fox. I know there's lots of coyotes. There is also lots of private land.

ive noticed u have been posting for info a lot why before the snow hits if its your dream to tree a lion with your dogs then u will be way more satisfied with a snow hunt im fairly new to lion hunting only been doing it for about eight years five of those with my own dogs and I have only seen a lion caught one time on dry ground and not with my dogs if u don't have a pack of good dry ground dogs u could spend years before catching one on dry ground im really not trying to be negative and if that's all u can work out its worth a try but they are tough to catch on dry ground even with the most experienced houndsmen and dogs in areas they are familiar with

I have waited for good snow forever. And when it snows.. It snows either way too much, or it melts in two days. It takes me two days to drive out. I'm in a pretty rough spot where I live. I figured I'd try dry ground. My dogs rig and road. It's worth a shot to me. I'll try my best.
